1983 AUDI UR QUATTRO
| The original Quattro!
The car that turn the world of rallying upside down and dominated the sport in the early 80s.
This US spec car was purchased in 2004 from Gary P. of New Jersey. Gary always maintained the car meticulously and used it mostly for Audi club track days.
The turbo was replaced with a later S4 model ( water cooled), the suspension and brakes upgraded for track use, poly bushing all around, added gauges in the taxi pod, blacked out tail lights from 85 model.
The car is blast to drive on the street and on the track.
No rust to be found on this early model. The lines of the over fenders, the overall stance of the car have always been a favorite of mine and the sound with the Scorpion exhaust is fantastic!

1964 DKW F12 ROADSTER
| DKW ( steam powered wagon is the translation), One of the Audi 4 rings.
Wonderful technology made the DKW very unique cars of their day. Powered by a 900 cc 3 cylinder 2 cycle engine, these little cars could carry a family of 4 and luggage without any problems.
This model is one of only 2794 F 12 roadster built by the company.
It was purchased on e-bay France and imported in 2006, the car was running well and had no rust but the body was covered with bumps and bruises.
Complete paint job in the original color by George Felusi from Big G Kustoms, underbody treated to 2 coats of POR 15, interior and convertible top refurbished by Tom Wiegand.

1972 CITROEN DS 21
| Voila, I finally got my DS!
I spend a lot of time as a kid in the back seat of a DS, My dad worked for Citroen in the late 50's, early 60's and the D was always his car of choice after that. The only problem is that I would almost certainly get sick in the back! the boat motion of the ride would do the trick for me!
There are always a few DSs for sale on e-bay or other sites, but a lot of them are rusted and the damage goes pretty fast on these older French cars. I was lucky to find this one in Toronto, Canada where it was maintained by a couple Citroen enthusiast, the car is mechanically very sound and the body very solid, I will treat the undercarriage with a couple coats of POR 15 and follow a great Citroen lover advice and spray all cavities with Fluid Film that will keep the moisture from getting in contact with the metal.
The drive back from Toronto was smooth and trouble less, except for my Audi we drove there to pick up the car, It died on the side of I 94, thankfully on the US side, making the towing home easier! The DS kept on going! The Custom agents where very helpfull to take care of the paperwork and all had questions about this odd ride.
The photos are of the car after the drive home, I will update with better photos as I improve the car. It does not need anything to be a reliable driver but I will redo the interior, the leather is dry and cracked, replace the door cards ( the one on the car have big, ugly speakers mounted on them).
there is some electrical wiring to "clean up".
I am lucky to have a few Citroen lovers close by, making repairs, info and part sharing easier.
The hydraulics were redonne last year, the car rides like a cloud!

1973 AUDI COUPE S
| Based on the floor plan of the 100 sedan, the Coupe S has a distinctive and attractive styling.
It is powered by a 1.9L 4 cylinder engine, giving a top speed of 110 mph.
I found this Coupe on e-bay France in my hometown of Nice, it is a great running car with just over 100K kilometers.
The car was imported here by Classic Euro cars, a very easy process for anyone interested in buying a 25 year or more car over seas.

Update: January 2010
The coupe ran just fine but to improve reliability and make it a great car to drive anywhere here is this winter's project:
Dropped and dismantle engine and transmission for rebuilt. Cleaned all parts, powder coated some so they would look new.
Install new rings, bearings, resealed all engine, the car had a new head put on by the previous owner and everything was great there, just replaced valve seals and cleaned the head.
Converted the belt driven radiator fan to an Audi electric fan, this reduces the chances of overheating in heavy traffic. the parts used are from a 100LS sedan of the same era I parted out.
Minor cosmetic work to fix a couple rust bubble on the front fenders and installed a set of inner fender linners made by Lokari in Germany. Most 70's cars did not have inner fender linners and major rust usually happened above the headlight bezels or by the doors were water and dirt collected.

1973 AUDI 100 LS
| This beautifully restored 100LS came from Prescott AZ, I flew out there in the summer of 2008 and drove the beauty back, about 2000 miles in 3 days, this is a great smooth highway car, except for the fact that the transmission gave out 10 miles from the finish due to a bad seal. After some research, i found a rebuilt transmission to put in the car as well as the rebuilt kit from Transtar.
The car is very comfortable, smooth, spacious, luxurious for her time.

1990 AUDI COUPE/S2
| Ah the 90 coupe!!!!
Has always been a car I loved but also a long story.
Had a 1990 Ginster yellow that was a blast to drive at Audi club events but after a while and being young, needed more power! So I bought a very poorly converted turbo version
(TAP sucks!) it took about a year to sort out the car and get it running right, which by then I had enough.
But suffering from The disease I had to buy another 90 Coupe in 2005 to transplant a 20 valves Turbo AAN code motor from a totalled rear ended UR S4.
The car already has the RS2 front end and looks very sharp, the engine is in, all plumbed in, it actually runs very strong, we are finally in the home stretch, only a few gauges from the 90 coupe have to be wired into the S4 wiring harness.
I cant wait after such a long wait to drive the car, all the plumbing had to be custom made, all lines are now stainless braided.
Should you do the conversion? NO, buy one already done, it will save you time and money!
September 09: The car is done! oh yes, it was a great filling to see kurt drive the car back with all the wiring properly done.
The car is really fun to drive, it makes me forget all the headackes of the last 31/2 years! Yes it was a long project but now there will be many years of enjoyment.

1957 DKW 1000
| Added another Deek to the fleet, this one is a 1957 example in great condition, the car was purchased from a vehicle donation program, the previous owner ( 82 years old) received the car as a gift from his son for his 80th birthday, he used to sell them when he lived in South Africa and his son thought that the dad would get a kick out of it. but after spending 6 months in the hospital when involved in a car accident with the same models many years ago, the reunion with the same model was less than warm so dad decised to get rid of the car, even if that meant making his son upset.
The car was donated to the Marin Humane Society near San Fransisco, where it was auctionned of.
The car was restored a few years ago, all new brakes, brake lines, schocks, tires, paint, interior is in perfect condition,
A new battery, a tune up and she is back alive, smoking the mosquitos out of the neighborhood.
the car is powered by a 900cc 3 cylinder 2 stroke motor, oil is mixed at a ratio of 40:1

1960 PANHARD PL17
| Yes I did purchase another French car, a Panhard Pl 17, the car is complete but needs a complete restoration that hopefully will be started in the summer 2010.
Picked up the car from a collector in Midland that loves the French and other unusual cars.
the 850cc air cooled engine gave these fairly large 4 door sedans enough power to cruise at 65mph just about all day long.
I love the look and style of the Panhard and she will be lime green with a white roof!

SOME CARS OF MY PAST
| So many cars, so little time, here are a few cars I had the pleasure to drive, some more interesting than others but nevertheless all worth a drive in.

1970 CITROEN HZ VAN
| I just purchased a 1970 H van, ex fire truck.
this model was purchased in 2000 by Michel ( the previous owner) from the fire station auction. This models were used for transporting supplies, firemen and some were even converted into ambulances. Michel had the truck resprayed in the original red color and the low mileage truck ( 53000 original kilometers) runs like a Swiss clock.
I cannot wait for Nicolas from Classic euro cars in Florida to import it so I may enjoy it before the long, cold Michigan winter.
